Kendrick Lamar shares 'not like us' music video

Kendrick Lamar unveiled a new song on his Instagram account yesterday. The track, reportedly titled “Watch the Party Die,” runs for five minutes. This release marks Lamar’s first new music since “Not Like Us.” That single emerged during his recent exchange with Drake. The song’s debut follows Lamar’s announcement as the 2025 Apple Music Super Bowl LIX Halftime Show performer. This will be his second appearance at the event.

Lamar’s Instagram post featured a photo of black Air Force 1 sneakers. Some fans interpret this as a reference to Drake’s earlier comments. In the track, Lamar mentions Christian rapper Lecrae and producer Terrace Martin. He also appears to allude to DJ Akademiks. The lyrics touch on themes of conflict and resolution. Lamar raps about “tough love” and “walking that man down.”

Reaction to Lamar’s Super Bowl announcement has been mixed. Some argue Lil Wayne deserved the spot due to his New Orleans roots. Nicki Minaj voiced support for Wayne on social media. Others defend Lamar, citing his recent successes and Pulitzer Prize win. The debate surrounding the Halftime Show choice continues. Fans remain divided over Lamar’s selection for the performance.
