Madlib, a well-known producer and musician, has released his latest single, “REEKYOD,” featuring rappers Black Thought and Your Old Droog. This track marks Madlib’s first release on his label, Madlib Invazion. The single artwork collaborates with artist Mathieu Bitton, who has previously worked with notable musicians such as Lenny Kravitz, Lady Gaga, and Prince.

“REEKYOD” showcases the collaboration between Madlib, Black Thought, and Your Old Droog, highlighting the importance of lyricism and production in hip-hop. The track celebrates the genre’s traditions and the connection between the emcee and the producer. Your Old Droog’s verse, “Everything I spit, shine/Imma get mine, regardless,” demonstrates his confidence in his success over Madlib’s production.

Black Thought describes the track as “strictly for the honorees,” praising Madlib’s production and Your Old Droog’s lyrical skills. He calls the piece “high art” and an “instant classique.”

Your Old Droog expresses his appreciation for the opportunity to work with Madlib and Black Thought, stating, “It’s an honor to be inducted into the heavyweight class of hip hop.” He also mentions an upcoming collaborative album with Madlib.
