He’s focused. He’s authentic. Anything else can stay away.
NilexNile is letting his hustle and hard work speak for itself with his newest single, “WIA”.
Inspired by Chicago’s underground hip hop scene, he said the track explains his current outlook on life. He’s in a place where choosing between legitimacy and being gaudy isn’t hard.
[The lyrics] “see through gimmicks, I lay it to rest” are definitely sending the message, to all, that hard work/talent will beat any gimmicky formula for attention and opportunities any day,” he said.
Nile taps fellow Milwaukee rapper Wave Chapelle for the single and video. The visuals have both creatives bracing the winter cold, while giving us some nostalgic, 90s-grunge vibes in the Cream City.
“Me and Wave have been messing with each other’s hustle for a while now, over the years, and thought it was time to bridge the gap in our community as artists,” Nile said.
NilexNile’s new album “Nostalgia EverClear” drops March 17.
He’s also kicking off his two-month, “Nostalgia Tour” in March, starting with a show at SXSW. Check out the song & tour dates below.
