André 3000 has announced the “New Blue Sun Live Tour.” This tour, commencing later this month and extending into March, supports his surprise debut solo album, “New Blue Sun.”André 3000’s foray into this solo project is not a solitary endeavor. An ensemble of accomplished musicians accompanies him, each bringing a unique flair to the tour:

  • Carlos Niño, a stalwart in the experimental jazz scene, is renowned for his work as a producer and composer.
  • Nate Mercereau, a versatile multi-instrumentalist whose contributions are expected to add depth to the live performances.
  • Surya Botofasina, a pianist and synthesizer player, whose skills will undoubtedly enrich the tour’s sound palette.
  • Deantoni Parks, a drummer and composer known for his innovative approach, is set to bring a dynamic rhythm section to the performances.

“New Blue Sun” marks a significant shift in André 3000’s artistic direction, moving from his hip-hop roots to a more instrumental and introspective style. The album, featuring collaborations with several artists, including Niño, Mercereau, Botofasina, and Parks, opens with a 12-minute track symbolizing André’s unconventional approach to music-making. Debuting at No. 90 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, the album is a testament to André 3000’s enduring impact on music.
