Summerfest organizers announced that Brittany Howard will headline the festival’s opening night concert at the BMO Harris Pavilion on Thursday, June 20, 2024. Howard will be joined by the musical duo The War and Treaty for the season kick-off performance.

Howard is best known as the lead vocalist and guitarist of the four-time Grammy award-winning band Alabama Shakes. However, she has also seen success as a solo musician after releasing her critically praised debut solo album “Jaime” in 2019, which showcased her wide musical versatility across genres like rock, funk, and psychedelic soul.

The Nashville-based musician’s sophomore album “What Now” is expected later this year, with the recently released title track hinting at Howard’s signature retro-yet-modern sound paired with socially conscious songwriting.

As the headlining act in the BMO Harris Pavilion, Howard is likely to deliver a dynamic, high-energy set for the opening night crowd, with her powerful voice and renowned guitar skills taking center stage.

Reserved seat tickets for the performance will be available starting February 2 on the Summerfest website and at Ticketmaster. Howard’s opening night show will surely be a highlight of Summerfest 2024 for longtime fans and those newly discovering this multi-talented performer.
