Alpha Phi Alpha's to host Step Show and after party in Milwaukee

The District of Wisconsin branch of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., the first intercollegiate Greek-letter fraternity established for African American men, will host its 92nd Midwestern Regional Convention in Milwaukee from Thursday, April 11th to Saturday, April 13th, 2024. The convention, expected to draw over 1,200 attendees, will feature various events, with select activities open to the public.

Alderman Russell W. Stamper, II, a member of Alpha Phi Alpha, encourages residents to attend public events and hopes they will bring attention to the fraternity’s inspiring work and mission. “Since its founding in 1906, Alpha Phi Alpha has been a champion for civil rights and the empowerment of African Americans and other minorities throughout the nation,” said Alderman Stamper. “The Fraternity is dedicated to the principles of leadership, brotherhood, academic excellence, and service to the community, and I am proud to be a part of such an amazing organization. I highly encourage everyone to take full advantage of the opportunities to learn more about this historic brotherhood and to celebrate its legacy and the work its members have done in our community and for people of color everywhere.”

The Vice President’s Public Program & Reception, co-sponsored by Rockwell Automation with the theme “Racism Is A Public Health Crisis,” will occur from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Baird Convention Center’s Grand Ballroom A&B.
