Kevin Hart's Tequila Brand Grants $1M to Black & Brown Businesses

Kevin Hart’s Gran Coramino Tequila has reached a significant milestone by disbursing over $1,000,000 to over 100 under-resourced small business owners through the Coramino Fund, in partnership with the Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC). The ultra-premium tequila brand, founded in 2022 by Hart and 11th-generation tequila maker Juan Domingo Beckmann, donates $1 from every bottle sold to support underrepresented entrepreneurs in the United States and Mexico.

The Coramino Fund has provided $10,000 in grants to fuel the growth of small businesses across various industries, with the latest funding round supporting 50 businesses, the majority of which are owned by women and individuals from Black and Latinx communities. Hart, an entrepreneur himself, recognizes the impact of early financial support on the long-term success of a business.

In addition to the Coramino Fund’s efforts in the U.S., Gran Coramino Tequila has been supporting entrepreneurs in Tequila, Mexico, where its Cristalino Reposado and Añejo expressions are crafted. The brand plans to expand its programming to entrepreneurs throughout Mexico later this year through a new partnership with renowned university Tec de Monterrey.

Hart’s commitment to giving back through the Coramino Fund comes as he prepares for his upcoming shows in Milwaukee on April 27 and 28, 2024, at the Miller High Life Theatre. The comedian, who recently received the prestigious Mark Twain Prize for American Humor, will bring his signature style of comedy to the stage, entertaining audiences with his relatable and hilarious storytelling.

The Mark Twain Prize, awarded annually by the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, recognizes individuals who have significantly contributed to American humor. Hart’s receipt of the award is a testament to his impact on the comedy world and his ability to connect with audiences across generations and backgrounds.

As Hart continues to make strides in his career as a comedian and an entrepreneur, his dedication to uplifting underrepresented communities through initiatives like the Coramino Fund showcases his commitment to using his platform for positive change. With Gran Coramino Tequila’s ongoing success and the expansion of the Coramino Fund, Hart and Beckmann are poised to make an even greater impact on the lives of small business owners in the years to come.
