Milwaukee's Myaap drops new EP, 'YOP!'

Milwaukee’s Myaap, the young talent who took a sample of ABBA and made it a Milwaukee low-end rap anthem, is back with a new EP titled “YOP!” produced by Nedarb. This project follows her previous release, “BIG MYAAP, NOT THE LIL ONE.”

Nedarb, renowned for his work with artists like Black Kray, Lil Peep, and $uicideboy$, brings a distinctive sound that perfectly complements Myaap Myaap’s energetic style. The “YOP!” EP, featuring six tracks, embodies the quintessential Milwaukee bounce while seamlessly blending local influences with broader musical trends. This fusion of styles highlights Myaap’s versatility and positions her as a trailblazer within her regional scene.

Highlights include “MLK,” a track that captures Milwaukee’s signature low-end sound while incorporating subtle New Jersey Club music elements. The infectious energy of this track is a testament to Myaap’s ability to blend genres and create something uniquely her own. “Turnt Up,” another standout track, evokes memories of the classic “Wait (The Whisper Song),” released almost 20 years ago by Atlanta’s Yin Yang Twins, bringing a nostalgic yet modern take to the EP.

Myaap will perform at MIKE’s upcoming Young World Festival, sharing the stage with renowned artists like Earl Sweatshirt.
