Kendrick Lamar's 'Not Like Us' inspires video game

Kendrick Lamar’s recent track “Not Like Us” has sparked the creation of a video game inspired by the song’s music video.

Richie Branson, a developer with previous experience on “Fortnite”, has created “Not Like Us: The Game“. The game employs a whack-a-mole style of gameplay where players control a Lamar-like character who strikes owl-shaped targets as they appear.

The game draws inspiration from a specific scene in the “Not Like Us” music video. In this scene, Lamar hits an owl piñata, which some interpret as a reference to Drake’s OVO (October’s Very Own) brand. Mustard’s beat for the song plays in a chiptune version as background music, while the game displays a stylized “WOP!” on screen with each successful hit.

Branson has made the game free on web browsers, allowing desktop and smartphone users to access it. While he offers the game at no cost, Branson has included options for voluntary financial support through Cash App and Venmo.
