JPEGMAFIA – “I Lay Down My Life for You”
JPEGMAFIA’s “I Lay Down My Life for You” marks the artist’s return to solo work after a three-year hiatus. Meshell Ndegeocello’s “No More Water: The Gospel of James Baldwin” is a tribute to the renowned writer and activist. Released to coincide with Baldwin’s centennial, this genre-defying album explores themes central to Baldwin’s work, including race, sexuality, and religion. The project features collaborations with various artists and includes spoken-word performances by notable figures.
Killer Mike – “Songs for Saints and Sinners”
Killer Mike’s “Songs for Saints and Sinners” is an epilogue to his Grammy-winning 2023 release, “MICHAEL.” The ten-track album, credited to Michael & The Mighty Midnight Revival, features collaborations with artists such as Anthony Hamilton and Offset. Killer Mike describes the project as a personal testimony, drawing inspiration from church traditions.
Khalid – “Sincere”
Khalid returns with “Sincere,” his first release since 2021’s “Scenic Drive (The Tape). The 15-track record blends pop and R&B elements, featuring soft instrumentals and moments of quiet intimacy. Soweto Gospel Choir x Groove Terminator – “History of House”
The Soweto Gospel Choir teams up with DJ Groove Terminator for “History of House,” reimagining iconic dance music classics. This collaborative effort celebrates dance music’s African roots, featuring multilingual vocal performances and collaborations with emerging Southern African artists. The album aims to connect diverse cultures across generations by combining global beats, Afro-house, Amapiano, and house music.
