R&B legend Frankie Beverly Passes Away at the age of 78

Frankie Beverly, renowned R&B singer and frontman of Maze, passed away on September 10, 2024. The Beverly family announced his death in a statement.” He lived his life with pure soul as one would say, and for us, no one did it better. He lived for his music, family and friends,” the family stated.

Beverly began his musical journey in Philadelphia, singing gospel in his local church choir as a young student. Beverly founded Maze in Philadelphia in 1970, initially naming the group Raw Soul. The group produced numerous hits, including “Before I Let Go,” “Joy and Pain,” “We Are One,” “Happy Feelin’s,” “Golden Time of Day,” “Back in Stride,” “Can’t Get Over You,” and “Silky Soul.” Beyoncé covered Beverly’s “Before I Let Go” hit on her 2019 live album “Homecoming.”

These songs became anthems at family gatherings and social events across generations. Beverly’s music often explored themes of love, unity, and celebration. His soulful voice and positive messages resonated with audiences worldwide. Known for his strong family values,
