HYFIN pays tribute to A Tribe Called Quest this Saturday, Oct 26

HYFIN proudly announces “LG LIVE! A Tribute Called Quest,” a dynamic celebration honoring the music and legacy of 2024 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductees A Tribe Called Quest. This free event, part of HYFIN’s Latest and Greatest (LG) series, will take place on October 26th at The Green Room at Radio Milwaukee (158 S Barclay St, Milwaukee, WI 53204) at 7 pm, offering a night of innovative performances, interactive experiences, and deep appreciation for one of hip-hop’s most influential groups.

Event highlights include:

  • VERZHUN, a cutting-edge musical collaboration featuring Jon Harris Jr. (drums) and Jordan “jordimack” Lee (turntables/samplers), reimagining A Tribe Called Quest classics through their unique blend of live instrumentation and turntablism.
  • DJ Snack Daddy, the Latest and Greatest resident DJ, spinning Tribe-inspired sets throughout the night.
  • A LIVE TRIBE CALLED QUEST MIXTAPE Karaoke showcasing Milwaukee’s top talent, including Dr. Stacia Thompson, Bizzon, B~Free, Dame Ellzey, Emmitt James, Count Classic, Brit Nicole, Vincent Van Great, Meg Nice, and more.
  • Hip-hop trivia hosted by Don’t Sajak, testing attendees’ knowledge of the genre and A Tribe Called Quest’s impactful career.

“A Tribe Called Quest revolutionized hip-hop with their innovative sound, blending jazz, alternative rock, and socially conscious lyrics,” says Anthony Foster, on-air host for HYFIN and Latest & Greatest programmer. “This event not only celebrates their induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame but also showcases how their influence continues to inspire Milwaukee’s diverse musical landscape.”

The event is free and open to the public, but due to limited capacity, registration via Eventbrite is required. HYFIN encourages early registration to secure a spot at this can’t-miss celebration.
