Hip-hop artist Emmitt James has announced a charitable basketball event in Milwaukee’s Howard Fuller Collegiate Academy. The event, titled “Hoop 4 The Holidays,” aims to collect winter apparel for Milwaukee residents experiencing homelessness.
The charity game, scheduled for December 14, will feature two teams competing for community support. James will lead one team against Genesis Renji’s squad. Guest House, a local shelter and resource center, has partnered with James to distribute the collected items. The collaboration includes support from House of Renji and Howard Fuller Collegiate Academy.
Attendees can access the event through two ticket options. Those who donate winter clothing receive $5 admission, while standard entry costs $15. James brings performance experience to the charitable effort. The Milwaukee-based artist has appeared at regional venues including Summerfest and opened for established performers.
The event organizers accept new and gently used winter apparel. Premium seating packages include courtside views with concessions and merchandise options. Guest House representatives confirm all collected items will support local community members. The shelter maintains active programs throughout Milwaukee’s winter season.
