Grammy-winning artist Ledisi is bringing her “Love You Too Tour” to Milwaukee’s Riverside Theater on June 12, following her notable performance of “Lift Every Voice and Sing” at Super Bowl LIX. The Milwaukee stop marks the midpoint of her North American tour, which begins May 28 in Baltimore.
The vocalist will share the stage with R&B artist Marsha Ambrosius, known for her work with Floetry and her recent GRAMMY nomination. Ambrosius’s presence adds depth to an evening that promises to showcase the breadth of contemporary R&B and soul music. Her latest project, CASABLANCO, demonstrates her continued evolution as an artist under Dr. Dre’s production guidance.
Ledisi’s Super Bowl performance carried special significance as she represented her hometown of New Orleans through her rendition of “Lift Every Voice and Sing,” often referred to as the Black National Anthem. The song, written by James Weldon Johnson with music composed by his brother John Rosamund, speaks to the enduring pursuit of racial equality and envisions a liberated future for Black Americans. Her delivery, accompanied by the New Orleans High School Choral Collective of 125 students, transformed the pre-game ceremony into a powerful testament to cultural heritage and artistic excellence.
The Milwaukee performance will support Ledisi’s forthcoming album, The Crown, scheduled for release this spring. The project includes her current single “Love You Too” and “BLKWMN,” both of which have garnered significant attention on streaming platforms. This performance marks the first opportunity for Milwaukee audiences to hear this new material in a live setting.
Tickets for the Riverside Theater performance go on sale Feb 14 through the venue’s website and authorized ticket vendors. The show begins at 8:00 PM, with doors opening at 7:00 PM. Reserved seating ranges from $45 to $125, with VIP packages available that include a pre-show meet-and-greet opportunity.
