In a groundbreaking announcement, Missy Elliott, one of the most influential and innovative artists in contemporary music, has revealed plans for her first-ever North American headline tour. Titled “OUT OF THIS WORLD — The Missy Elliott Experience,” the tour is set to take place this summer, featuring an all-star lineup that includes hip-hop legend Busta Rhymes, multi-platinum selling artist Ciara, and renowned producer Timbaland.
The 24-city arena tour will kick off on July 4 at Rogers Arena in Vancouver and make stops in major cities such as Los Angeles, Atlanta, and Brooklyn before concluding at Allstate Arena in Rosemont on August 22. Produced by Live Nation in association with Elliott’s longtime manager Mona Scott-Young and represented by Seth Shomes through Day After Day Productions, the tour promises to be a highly anticipated event for fans of the iconic artist.
Elliott, who has been a trailblazer in the music industry for decades, expressed her excitement about the tour, stating, “This is an incredible time in my life as I am experiencing so many milestone ‘firsts.’ Being the FIRST female Hip Hop artist to be inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and now going out on my FIRST headline tour. Fans have been asking me to tour forever but I wanted to wait until I felt the time was right because I knew if I was ever going to do it, I had to do it big, and I had to do it with family!”
The tour announcement was accompanied by a visually stunning promotional video, conceptualized by Elliott and brought to life by her longtime collaborators, including director Dave Meyers, stylist June Ambrose, and creative director Hi-Hat. The video showcases Elliott’s signature avant-garde style and sets the tone for what promises to be an unforgettable concert experience.
With a career spanning three decades, Missy Elliott has achieved unprecedented success, earning four GRAMMY® Awards, 22 GRAMMY® nominations, eight MTV Video Music Awards, and sales exceeding 30 million in the U.S. alone. Her six studio albums have all been certified platinum or better by the RIAA, a remarkable accomplishment for a female rapper. In 2023, Elliott made history once again by becoming the first female hip-hop artist to be inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.
Joining Elliott on the tour are fellow hip-hop icon Busta Rhymes, whose high-energy performances and lyrical prowess have cemented his status as one of the greatest MCs of all time, and Ciara, a GRAMMY® Award-winning singer, songwriter, and entrepreneur known for her dynamic stage presence and chart-topping hits. The tour will also feature special guest appearances by Timbaland, the multi-platinum, GRAMMY® Award-winning producer behind some of the most memorable hits in music history.
