Jabula’s Self-Titled Album Reissued
Strut Records has reissued the self-titled album by Jabula, a South African ensemble formed in 1974 by musicians living in exile in England during the Apartheid era. The band, led by Julian Bahula, blends Afro-jazz and funk influences. Initially released in 1975, “Jabula” was the first of five albums the group produced between 1975 and 1982. The reissue allows listeners to experience the band’s fusion of traditional African rhythms with jazz and funk elements.
