The XL Film Fest, an event that aims to showcase the art of storytelling through cinema, will take place in Chicago from August 15-18, 2024. This year’s festival is headlined by the Tate brothers, Larenz, Larron, and Lahmard, who will participate in a panel discussion titled “The Family Biz.”
Troy Pryor, Founder of Creative Cypher and the XL Film Fest, stated, “The XL Fest is becoming the preeminent Storytelling festival in Chicago. We are looking to be the model for future festivals not just in Chicago but across the entire film industry.”
The four-day event will feature a range of activities, including workshops, panel discussions, film screenings, and networking opportunities. It will take place at various venues across the city, providing attendees with a diverse experience.

The festival will also host a Pitch Competition, in which film teams compete for the opportunity to enter the XL Lab. Winners will receive a monetary grant, access to equipment, studio space, and mentorship opportunities.
All Access passes for the festival include entrance to all listed events, special dinners, custom merchandise, and discounts at select Hyde Park businesses.
