"Prove It To You" – Brittany Howard Blends Dance Beats with Soulful Vocals in Latest Release

Brittany Howard, known for her raw vocal power and soul-stirring performances, has released the third single, “Prove It To You,” from her upcoming album, “What Now.” Anticipation is building for her second solo venture, which is scheduled for release on February 9th. Bringing a fresh dynamic to her repertoire, “Prove It To You” is a jubilant dance track, showcasing Howard’s ability to captivate audiences beyond the typical realms of soul and rock.

Combining gritty guitar riffs with pulsating electronic beats, Howard experiments with the Reason Drum Sequencer for the first time to craft the core of “Prove It To You.” The initial production, laden with virtual drum machines, sets the stage for a dance euphoria that Howard and her band later transformed into a live studio sensation. The outcome is a track that ignites the dance floor while delving into the complex emotional landscape of romantic relationships. Listen to the track here and experience Howard’s venture into production and dance music territory.

Her exploration into different genres doesn’t stop there. Fans have already embraced the album’s titular track “What Now,” celebrated by Pitchfork as a formidable glimpse into Howard’s evolving journey, and “Red Flags,” an introspective piece that the New York Times highlights as manifesting the moodier reaches of her wide-ranging artistry.

Adding to her impressive ensemble of projects, Howard will lend her distinctive voice to the character Thelma in Netflix’s animated feature “Thelma The Unicorn.” Slated for a May 17 release, the heartwarming tale depicts an unassuming pony’s ascent to stardom upon a fateful transformation into a unicorn. The film boasts a star-studded voice cast, including Will Forte and Jemaine Clement, underscoring Howard’s diverse talents and rising influence in entertainment.

WHAT NOW is already earmarked on numerous 2024 “must-hear” album lists from authoritative outlets such as the New York Times, NPR, and Grammy.com. Its twelve tracks promise to usher listeners through an eclectic journey of psychedelia, pop, dance, and jazz, highlighting the Grammy-winning artist’s profound evolution. The album comes on the heels of her critically lauded debut, Jaime, which snagged seven Grammy® nominations and carved out a spot on best-of-the-year collections thanks to songs like “Stay High” and “History Repeats.”

Howard’s highly anticipated 2024 tour will bring her to iconic stages, including a sold-out opening performance in Chicago and key dates in metropolitan hotspots such as New York City and Toronto. With support from artists such as Becca Mancari and June McDoom, Howard’s show promises to be a powerful showcase of her latest work.

Brittany Howard is gearing up for her brilliant commencement of the festival season, including an electrifying performance at Summerfest later this year. Audiences at the world’s largest music festival are in for an electrifying experience as Howard takes the stage on opening night, promising to deliver a set permeated with her signature fervor and transformative new sounds.
