The stage is set at The Mann in Fairmount Park for an unparalleled assembly of artists at 2024 Roots Picnic. The revered two-day festival, proudly presented by The Roots and Live Nation Urban, is set to weave an intricate tapestry of sonic excellence on June 1-2.

This year, the festival honors the cultural significance of Philly and beyond by hosting a roster steeped in diversity and influence. The full lineup boasts a symphony of storytellers and beat-makers, from veteran virtuosos to vanguards of the new wave, each echoing the relentless spirit of Roots Picnic’s audacious ethos.

Leading the lineup are Lil Wayne & The Roots, constructing an architectural tribute to New Orleans, with PJ Morton and Trombone Shorty infusing the familiar warmth of the Big Easy into Philly’s landscape. This unparalleled blend of rap royalty and celebrated instrumentalists promises to provide a performance for the ages.

Roots Picnic’s 2024 stage will shimmer with HYFIN’s artists, the platform dedicated to celebrating Black culture in its myriad expressions. These artists include:

  • Jill Scott: Philly’s first lady of neo-soul, embodying the city’s rich musical heritage with her incomparable voice and honest storytelling.
  • Nas: A poetic luminary whose verses thread the very fabric of hip-hop’s narrative tapestry.
  • Victoria Monét: The GRAMMY® Award-winning artist who’s shaping the genre’s future with her innovative stylings.
  • Smino: A dynamic force blending rap with funk, soul, and a twist of his St. Louis roots.
  • Robert Glasper: The vanguard of jazz’s modern expression, paired with the celestial vocals of Yebba, is set to deliver a transcendent collaboration.
  • Tyla: This new-age African icon is igniting the stage with a vibrant fusion of R&B and South African vibes.
  • Wale: The wordsmith who bridges erudition with an unyielding cool, representing the pulse of the genre’s evolution.
  • October London: A vocal journeyman whose soulful expressions are reminiscent of music’s golden eras.
  • N3wyrkla: A fresh emissary of rhythm, contributing to the ever-expanding dialogue of urban soundscapes.

Additional hallmark acts like Gunna, Sexyy Red, Babyface, and Cam’ron serve as testaments to the festival’s cutting-edge relevance and historical ties. J.Period’s Live Mixtape, featuring Black Thought, Method Man, and Redman, is bound to reverberate with nostalgic power and contemporary edge. At the same time, Adam Blackstone’s Legacy Experience infuses the soul of R&B with unmatched musical precision.

Roots Picnic continues its tradition of pushing boundaries by hosting the Parkside Stage, formerly known as the podcast stage. Here, discourse and beats will mingle, featuring platforms like R&B Only, U+ME+RNB, They Have the Range, Million Dollaz Worth of Game, Tonight’s Conversation, Juan Epstein Podcast, and World Series of Spades, ensuring that the cultural conversation continues beyond the music.

This convergence of genre-defining greats and ascending talents positions Roots Picnic as a beacon for the past, present, and future of music. With a lineup that excels in both depth and breadth, this festival stands as a radiant illustration of music’s perpetual progression.

Tickets and VIP packages become available starting with the alumni presale on February 20th, followed by the general on-sale February 23rd. Join us at the heart of Philadelphia for an immersive experience of heritage and innovation at Roots Picnic 2024.
