Equality – Reducing Inequalities And Advancing Human Rights
Come join us at Milwaukee Turners for an enlightening event focused on reducing inequalities and advancing human rights. Please join the City of Milwaukee Equal Rights Commission, The United Nations Association of the United States of America and the Milwaukee Turners for the Annual Human Rights Day Celebration and Panel.
Inequities take many different shapes and affect people in myriad and often poorly understood ways. Join Moderator Pastor Walter Lanier as he sheds light on this topic with Professor Ted Lentz of the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee, Alexandria Staubach of the Wisconsin Justice Institute, and Melody McCurtis of Metcalfe Park Community Bridges. They will discuss some of the many ways human rights need to be advanced in housing, our criminal legal system and Milwaukee generally.
Join us in this important hybrid forum at Turner Hall. Free lunch will be served, and limited reduced cost parking is available. ASL interpretation will be available for those attending online.
Don’t miss this chance to strategize how to get involved with making Milwaukee what it ought to be. Let’s work together towards a future where everyone is treated fairly and equally.
