Darron Brüwer
Community Engagement Coordinator

‘DJ’ Darron Brüwer

Background
AD

A lover of all things Milwaukee, Darron (DJ) Brüwer discovered the 414 after residing in Michigan for quite some time. Originally from South Africa, DJ moved to the U.S. in ‘98 in which he lived in Detroit for ten years. Moving to Wisconsin in 2009, and later graduating from Pewaukee High in 2012, he was a strong advocate for Anti-bullying initiatives and social responsibility culminating in a school wide assembly focusing on the impact of bullying. That assembly left students to reflect on the experiences of their peers, leading him to understand the impact of community building and his joy for public speaking.

Focused on increasing his confidence and leadership skills DJ joined the Civil Air Patrol Auxiliary of the United States Airforce in 2009. Where he served as Timmerman Squadron’s Public Relations Cadet. As a cadet, he was able to experience flying his first Cessna C-172 under the guidance of a trained CAP Pilot. In service to his community he gained experience in emergency services, avation, and cadet programs. Each discipline allowing him to participate in rescue missions, knowledge in piloting, and foundational leadership principles. DJ left the Civil Air Patrol as a Cadet Airman 1st Class in 2012.

In 2010 DJ also discovered his love for water ski shows when he joined the Pewaukee Lake Water Ski Club with his father. He spent his summers showskiing on the beautiful waters of Pewaukee Lake entertaining the community with water show tricks, pyramids, and more.

DJ is a recent graduate of Wisconsin Lutheran College. He studied Business Leadership and Management while operating his own small business – F2 Social.

F2 Social was DJ’s last entrepreneurial endeavor before joining HYFIN. His agency focused on building a digital presence for entrepreneurs both locally and nationally through social media marketing efforts and website design. In an attempt to turn pain into power, DJ purposely named his agency F2 (Flatface) in an effort to turn around a name given to him by a lifetime of bullies. Such experience became the foundation of what he believes social media did for him as a teen – find his tribe, build community and inspire him to believe there is a better tomorrow – well before social media was even known to be the catalyst to community, growth, and inspiration that it is today.

Now DJ brings his unique experiences as an immigrant, entrepreneur, and proud member of the LGBTQIA+ community to HYFIN as our Community Engagement Coordinator.
