Background

Kim Shine is HYFIN’s weekday, evening host and production manager. This role blends Kim’s passions of music, creativity and storytelling. Before switching to radio, she spent more than eight years in local television news as a reporter, anchor and producer. Throughout her previous career, she covered a myriad of community-based stories, across several states, and has produced long-form content. Her love of collaboration also led her to receive an Emmy nomination as a producer.

Originally from Chicago, Kim holds degrees from Grand Valley State University and Northwestern’s Medill School of Journalism. She’s a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, the National Association of Black Journalists and Omicron Delta Kappa.
