Rapper Killer Mike is set to release his latest project, “Songs for Sinners & Saints,” on Friday, August 2nd, 2024. This new album is an epilogue to his Grammy-winning 2023 release, “MICHAEL,” which was widely acclaimed as one of the year’s best albums.
The project, credited to Michael & The Mighty Midnight Revival (Killer Mike’s gospel ensemble), consists of ten tracks and collaborates with artists such as Anthony Hamilton, Offset, Key Glock, and Project Pat. Ahead of the album’s release, Killer Mike has shared a performance of the lead single, “HUMBLE ME,” as part of his “From the Block” series.
In a statement about the new album, Killer Mike explained, “I had a year to engage with MICHAEL and came to realize that I still had more to express with this sound before progressing,” according to Consequence of Sound. He described “Songs for Sinners & Saints” as a personal testimony, drawing parallels to the tradition of public testimonies in church services from his youth.
Killer Mike is performing a three-night residency at New York’s Blue Note Jazz Club to promote the new project from July 29th to 31st. The final show on July 31st will feature a special guest appearance by El-P and will be livestreamed on Mike’s YouTube channel.
Following the Blue Note residency, Killer Mike will embark on a North American tour, appearing at major festivals such as Lollapalooza, Outside Lands, and Thing Festival. The tour will then extend to Europe, with shows scheduled in Amsterdam, Dublin, Glasgow, London, Paris, and Cologne.
